PORG FEST is a student-based project that started earlier this school year in order to light up the busy lives of hardworking students all around the Czech Republic. We offer a variety of events throughout the year to provide opportunities for you to share perspectives on music, theatre, and performance overall!

The three branches of PORG FEST

• Originals: Come and showcase your breathtaking ability through your own innovative short performance, be it a tiny play, new song, or anything else that you want to show the world! All evaluated by professional judges in their field. The stage is yours.
• Theatre: A nice evening opportunity to come enjoy a play, made entirely by young enthusiastic students, that will have handled everything from production to directing. And of course, the acting itself, guaranteeing a new take on the timeless art of drama.
• Music: Taking place around the end of the school year, it is the perfect way to reward yourself for pulling through all those all-nighters and get yourself in the mood for the upcoming holidays. Experience live performances of well-known bands from PORG and other schools.

What’s our backstory

As students at a gymnasium, our lives have become increasingly deprived of opportunities to explore more ways to express ourselves outside of comparative essays, literary analyses and articles for fictional magazines in English class.

And apart from our annual performances by Kvinta, showcasing their two years’ worth of progress in drama, music and art, there was no other event for anyone to showcase their true artistic inner self.

But we decided to change that! And since these festivals are mainly for students, who better to put in charge than the students themselves? Together with a helping hand from a few teachers, we created a growing organisation dedicated to creating the best festivals for students, by students.
